Physical Therapist - Inpatient Rehab (Travel/Contract)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shifts, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (alternating 07:00-15:30 or 10:30-19:00)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Job Description
- Provide physical therapy services in an acute care setting.
- Patient diagnoses include orthopedics, transplant, medical-surgical, neurology, oncology, and ICU cases.
- Preferred working setting: Acute Care.
- Skills required: Cardiopulmonary, Geriatrics, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopedics.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in District of Columbia.
- Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience, including experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one previous travel assignment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC).
- Skills in Orthopedics.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana).
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start.
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required.
- Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B.
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed).
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start date.
- Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and other relevant skills.
- Photo for badge with specific requirements (clear, centered, no glare, solid background).
Additional Notes
- Alternating 8-hour day shifts (07:00-15:30 or 10:30-19:00).
- Flu vaccine or approved exemption is mandatory for all employees.
- Background checks and verifications must be updated every 3 years or if there is a 6-month gap in service.
- Must meet all facility-specific health and safety requirements.
