MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position - New York
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (MRI Tech)
- Location: Newark, New York
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 12:30 PM – 8:30 PM (5x8 hours)
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- No call, no weekends, no holidays
Required Qualifications
- Valid MRI Technologist license in New York
- MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT-R certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in management roles
- Knowledge of radiation safety
- Ability to start peripheral IVs
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire accepted in lieu of annual renewal
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, opiates, etc.)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season
- Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start
- COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required
Background and Verification
- 7-year criminal background check required within 3 months of start (including SSN trace, national criminal, sex offender, education verification)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 3 months of start and run monthly
- Foreign education equivalency evaluation required if applicable
- Employment application and work history verification required (minimum 2 past employments verified)
- References required for travel candidates (2 references within 3 years)
- Color blindness testing required (one-time)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as required by profession
Facility-Specific Documentation
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Passport-style photo with solid background required for badge
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
- Various attestations and pre-employment compliance forms to be completed
State-Specific Requirements (New York)
- Fingerprinting and criminal background check fingerprint results required for certain units (Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Home Health Aide, LTC) if applicable
- Sex offender registry search required within 30 days of start
- Medicaid exclusion list check required within 3 months of start and run monthly
- NYS Nurse Aide Registry required within 3 months of start for LTC, ElderOne, Home Care, and Hospice Care (if applicable)
This position offers a stable weekday schedule with no weekend or holiday shifts, suitable for MRI Technologists with ARRT-R and BLS certifications and a valid New York state license. Candidates must meet comprehensive health, background, and compliance requirements prior to start.
