Job Opportunity: Infusion Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Burlington, Vermont
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Job Description

• Position on Vascular Access Team
• 12-hour rotating shifts (day/night), primarily days but flexibility to rotate to nights required
• Every other weekend required
• Typical rotation: one week nights followed by one week days, with possible mid-week rotations
• Must be flexible to fill critical vacancies
• Suitable candidates include ER RNs and infusion RNs

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license in Vermont
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (vascular access/infusion)
• Strong IV skills, including AVA certification and PICC skills
• Experience with large trauma Level 1 patients within the last year
• Epic electronic medical record experience within the past 2 years (required)
• Ability to assess PICC lines, perform dressing changes, administer TPA as needed
• Ability to float to place and troubleshoot peripheral IVs, PICC lines, ports, draw blood, and perform dressing changes
• BLS certification required
• Prior travel experience preferred (not required but a plus)

Schedule

• Monday through Sunday coverage
• No block scheduling
• Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays

Additional Requirements & Information

• Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended (public transportation not accessible)
• Vehicle should have all-season or snow tires November through April
• Must explain any employment gaps over 90 days
• Complete and detailed work history required (bed count, EMR, facility type, etc.)

Certifications & Compliance

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA approved
• ACLS, PALS as applicable (check unit requirements)
• State RN license primary source verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification within 30 days and updated annually
• Background check within 30 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification as required
• Drug testing as applicable
• COVID vaccination or declination required
• Flu vaccination or exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• Other immunizations: Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination), TB testing, and others per facility policy
• N95 fit test required prior to assignment and updated annually

Onboarding & Documentation

• Completion of EPIC and Cornerstone modules prior to start
• Photo for badge (passport style, plain background) required two weeks before start
• Various facility-specific forms and consents required (e.g., Adult and Child Abuse Registry Consent, Emergency Contact Form)
• Physical exam within 12 months of start date
• Must complete COVID questionnaire and other health screenings as required

References & Work History

• Two professional references from assignments within the last 3 years
• Verification of 2 years of most recent clinical work history
• Skills checklist within 12 months

Important Notes

• No block schedules allowed
• Must be flexible with shift rotations to meet unit needs
• Public transportation is not available; reliable transportation is essential
• Must be able to work in a Level 1 trauma environment
