Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Shift: Stepdown/PCU
Hours: 10 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide nursing care under general supervision to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex. Core responsibilities include:

Managing an assigned group of patients
Documenting patient responses and changes in physician orders
Assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
Monitoring physiological data and intervening as needed
Administering medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products
Delivering competent patient care and communicating care plans to patients and families
Making referrals for patient care needs and delegating tasks to support staff

Required Qualifications

Experience

Minimum 1 year of Cardiac PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience within the last year
Cardiac Cath Lab experience
One completed travel assignment

Education

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Licensure & Certifications

Valid RN license in Oklahoma
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
ARRT certification

Skills

Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
Some computer skills, including documentation in Epic and use of hemosystem Xper

Specialty & Clinical Focus

Cardiovascular nursing with experience in STEMI, Shock, VAD, ECMO, and Structural Heart procedures
Experience with imaging equipment such as Phillips and Siemens systems

Additional Information

Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees
Performs other duties as assigned
