Overview

• Travel contract in Santa Maria, California
• 13-week contract
• Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Unit: NICU, Level 3 NICU
• NICU has 21 beds

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in California
• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• 2 full years of NICU experience

Preferred

• PALS
• STABLE
• Cooling experience
• Experience with Mother Baby
• Experience with pediatrics

Assignment Details

• Ratios: 1:1 to 1:3 in NICU
• No nurse aides
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Holidays: 2 major holidays
• Scrub color: Navy
• EMR: Cerner
• Tele: Phillips tele, not required to read it
• Vents used include oscillators, Draeger, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula
• RT and Pharmacy are available 24/7
• Call may occur during low census as standby
• Floating may include Nursery and Peds; Mother Baby only if the nurse has that experience
• Orientation: 2-3 shifts in NICU, 2 shifts in Peds
• Common patient population includes 23 weeks and above, feeders/growers, and no ECMO
• Must be comfortable with high frequency oscillators and vents
