Location
- Asheville, North Carolina
- Emergency Department (ED), 101-bed unit
- High-volume ED with >100,000 visits annually
- Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
Employment Type
- Travel assignment
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Scheduled for 36 hours per week
- Scheduling: Every other weekend; no block scheduling; must meet department needs
- Floating: No floating outside ED; must float within all ED sections
Unit Environment
- Patient ratios: Typically 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
- Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation system: Cerner
- Team known for strong teamwork and welcoming culture
- Serves a multicultural community with over 120 languages spoken
Required Qualifications
- Valid EMT / ER Technician license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of EMT / ER Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- Ability to read telemetry monitors
- Certifications required before start date: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention Training), OEMS
