Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Details
- Unit: Cardiovascular Surgery PreOp (CV PreOp)
- Number of Beds: 4
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- Staffing: RNs supported by CNC, secretary, manager, shared with CVOR
- Equipment: GE Carescape Monitoring, Fuji ultrasound
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
- On Call: Stay late 1-2 times per week
- Floating: Within scope of practice and experience
Required Qualifications
- License: Registered Nurse (RN) license for North Carolina
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiovascular surgery or critical care specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required, but NO FIRST TIME TRAVELERS allowed (prior travel experience required)
Skills and Competencies
- Critical care experience is a must; PreOp experience is a plus
- Proficient in BCMA and excellent documentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills with interdisciplinary teams
- Advanced skills including:
- Large-bore IV starts
- Chin to toe hair removal
- Medication administration
- Skin assessment
- Assisting with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
- Transporting patients to OR and assisting with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep
