Job Opportunity: PCU Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Provide nursing care for Medical/Surgical patients in a Stepdown (Progressive Care Unit) setting.
- Must have experience in Progressive Care (PC), Acute Care (AC), Telemetry (Tele), and Medical-Surgical nursing.
- Float requirement to other universal/progressive care areas within the healthcare system.
- Every other weekend required.
- Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted.
- No block scheduling; full weeks off requests between May and August will not be approved.
- Must have at least 2 years of work experience at a Level One Trauma facility.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience within the last year
- Telemetry experience
- Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Pass/Fail Testing including EKG and Medication competency exams
Additional Notes
- Must complete all required background checks, health documents, certifications, and competency exams prior to start.
- Renewal plans must be in place for any certifications or licenses expiring during the contract.
- Candidates must comply with facility-specific policies including confidentiality, acceptable use, electronic communications, and password policies.
- No prior travel experience is explicitly required for this position.
