Registered Nurse – Surgery (Travel)

Location: Johnstown, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN) in Operating Room (Surgical Services)
• Shift: Varied day shifts including 9-5, 11-7, 1-9, 3-11, and weekend daylight shifts
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend/as needed
• Call Requirements: Yes, 1-2 times per week with 8-hour call increments
• Float Requirements: As needed
• Patient Population: All ages
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Number of Beds in Unit: 22
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• CPI or HWC certification
• Must complete and clear all required Pennsylvania screenings prior to start, including:

  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Department of Human Services Fingerprinting
  • FBI Department of Aging Fingerprinting (within last 2 years or new)
  • PA State Police Clearance (PATCH)
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Charge nurse experience for RNs
• Level 1 trauma experience
• Robotic surgery experience

Work Environment & Additional Information

• Dress Code: Blue scrubs provided; no casual wear allowed
• On-call and off-shift flexibility required
• Unit is a Level 1 Trauma Center with a technologically advanced surgical environment
• Patient care includes a wide range of surgical specialties
• Supervisor: Director of Surgical Services

• Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
• Candidates must be willing to accept varied shifts and call responsibilities
• This is a travel assignment requiring relocation or commuting from 60+ miles away
