Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 26 weeks
- Start Date: August 3
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s only)
- Hours per Week: 36

- Unit: Critical Care Float Pool (Level 1 Trauma Center)
- Facility Type: Magnet, Teaching, Level I Trauma Center
- Charting System: Epic (HARDSTOP)
- Scrub Color: Any solid color scrubs; light blue scrubs provided on unit
Job Description
- Float within scope to all critical care units as needed
- Must work 2 of the 3 holidays (holiday restrictions apply)
- Weekend work required every other weekend
- No on-call duties
- Academic/Teaching facility experience required
- Telemetry skills required, including proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias (a competency test will be administered)
- Required clinical skills: ventilators, IV starts, telemetry, conscious sedation
- Preferred skills: intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, pulmonary artery (PA) lines
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
- Minimum 3 years of Critical Care Float nursing experience, including recent experience within the last year
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
- Academic/Teaching facility experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Telemetry proficiency, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Conscious sedation skills
Additional Requirements
- References must be from direct supervisors (not charge nurses)
- Must submit Request Time Off (RTO) prior to facility submission; no additional RTO granted after offer
- Locals accepted; no block scheduling accommodations
- Must complete facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgment, license acknowledgment, equipment safety form, health history, policies and procedures acknowledgment, code of conduct, and others as required
- Badge photo required (professional, waist-up, clear lighting, simple background, no hats or face coverings)
- Background checks required including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, sex offender search, and state-specific searches
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start (not required by facility but required by agency)
- Mask fit test within 12 months of start (specific mask models required)
- Drug screening within past 12 months (agency requirement, not facility)
- Immunizations and titers required or declination forms accepted for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer or declination)
- Varicella
- Influenza vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccination or declination (for tracking purposes)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start; annual TB questionnaire required
- WA state-specific requirements for multi-state licensed nurses (suicide prevention training and demographic attestation) if applicable

This position is ideal for experienced critical care RNs with strong ICU backgrounds, telemetry proficiency, and the ability to float across multiple critical care units in a high-acuity, teaching hospital environment.
