Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Shift: Nights
- Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- Unit: Cardiac Telemetry
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- First-time travelers: Accepted
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Local Radius Rule: 75 miles (locals not accepted)
- Pending License: Accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: 7 days
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
Required Certifications
- Required: BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), NIH Stroke Certification
- Preferred: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- Additional:
- Telemetry skills including reading rhythms
- Knowledge of cardiac medications and drips (no titration)

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required
- Fingerprinting required for certain Illinois assignments (not applicable here)
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or equivalent within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Annual HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policy reviews
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (approx. 16 hours) prior to start
- Skills checklist and competency exams as required by unit (including medication/pharmacology competency)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be willing to work 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
- Floating may be required within the scope of practice
- No block scheduling available
- Locals within 75 miles are not accepted for this travel position
- Pending licenses are accepted for start
- First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
