Job Description

• Shift: Nights
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Unit: Cardiac Telemetry
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• First-time travelers: Accepted
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
• Local Radius Rule: 75 miles (locals not accepted)
• Pending License: Accepted
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: 7 days
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)

Required Certifications

• Required: BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), NIH Stroke Certification
• Preferred: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• Additional:

  • Telemetry skills including reading rhythms
  • Knowledge of cardiac medications and drips (no titration)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Government-issued ID required
• Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification of highest nursing degree required
• Fingerprinting required for certain Illinois assignments (not applicable here)
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or equivalent within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Annual HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policy reviews
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (approx. 16 hours) prior to start
• Skills checklist and competency exams as required by unit (including medication/pharmacology competency)

• Candidates must be willing to work 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
• Floating may be required within the scope of practice
• No block scheduling available
• Locals within 75 miles are not accepted for this travel position
• Pending licenses are accepted for start
