Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work on Med/Surg Telemetry unit with potential to float to related units including Emergency Department.
- Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (either day 7:00am–7:30pm or night 7:00pm–7:30am), rotating shifts possible based on operational needs.
- Must work at least every other holiday.
- Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication administration exam; passing scores required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio.
- Minimum 1.5 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience within the last year.
- Current certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Background and Compliance
- Background check required prior to start; must be updated annually and after breaks in service of 2+ months.
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months, updated annually; must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.
- Education verification required.
- NURSYS license verification within 30 days of start.
- Completion of facility-specific online onboarding modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome).
- Photo for badge required (headshot, shoulders up, white background).
Additional Information
- Must complete all required onboarding modules and competency exams before clearance to start.
- Candidates with a gap of less than 6 months since last assignment at the facility may be exempt from some orientation requirements.
- Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID at all times during assignment.
- Documentation and certifications must be current and valid at start date.
- Candidates must be prepared to comply with all facility health and safety protocols.
Experience & Travel Requirements
- Specialty Experience: Minimum 18 months Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience.
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
Shift Details
- Rotating 12-hour shifts (day and night).
- 36 hours per week (3 shifts).
This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs licensed in Ohio or a compact state, comfortable with rotating 12-hour shifts, and able to meet comprehensive health, certification, and compliance requirements.
