Job Opportunity: CT Tech
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (3 shifts/week, 12 hours each)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Perform CT and X-Ray duties according to radiology practice standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency with all CT and X-ray equipment and protocols.
- Produce high-quality exams within appropriate timeframes.
- May float to assist with coverage at the main hospital for overtime.
- Maintain compliance with attendance and punctuality requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Louisiana
- Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Schedule & Coverage
- Weekend coverage every other weekend.
- Night shifts only (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID matching all documentation.
- Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including social security trace, nationwide and county checks, sex offender, federal extended, and FACIS Level 3.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Education verification of highest degree (minimum high school/GED/college degree).
- Transcript/Diploma matching verified education if required.
- Photo for badge.
- Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days.
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months.
- State license verification within 30 days of start.
- Competency exams (medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, core parts I-III) required within 12 months and updated annually, with minimum 80% score.
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (specific panels depending on hire date).
- Annual TB questionnaire and negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or documented:
- Tdap (within 10 years)
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31), with exemptions accepted.
- Physical exam not required.
- Employee appearance policy acknowledgment.
- Flu declination form accepted if applicable.
Additional Notes
- Floating to main hospital may be required for overtime coverage.
- Pediatric experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must be able to work night shifts on weekends.
- Compliance with all hospital-specific policies and procedures is mandatory.
