Unit Details

• 18-bed unit
• Typical step-down patient population
• Common diagnoses include post-MI with sheath pull, ADHS, post-op vascular, GI bleed, and DKA

Required Qualifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• RN license
• Must be able to titrate drips

Clinical Responsibilities

• Telemetry on all patients; RNs read strips
• Common titratable drips include nitroglycerine, Neo, and Cardene

Staffing and Support

• 1 PCT per shift
• Charge nurse and house supervisor available
• Charge nurse typically does not take a team

Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend
• Holiday schedule is about every other holiday
• No call or standby

Floating

• Float PRN

Orientation

• Unit-based orientation

Dress Code

• Royal scrubs
• Undershirts may be white, royal blue, or black
