Med-surg experience matching current unit needs

Unit Details

Med-surg float unit
61 combined beds
Patient ratio: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights
Common patient types include surgical and medical patients such as total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, CHF, CVA, SOB, and diabetic issues

Responsibilities / Unit Expectations

Does not require titrating drips
No charge nurse or house supervisor role
Floating required
Telemetry present; monitor tech reads strips and RN confirms
Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow

Schedule Requirements

Every other weekend
Every other holiday
Call or standby may be required

Additional Details

Any scrub color allowed
Unit-specific orientation includes travel CBO and a unit float checklist
