Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Overview

Unit: 5 East Ortho/Spine
Number of Beds: 26
Patient Ratio: 6:1
Staffing Support: Unit secretaries, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Navigator
Equipment Used: Coolers, walkers, Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs), Continuous Passive Motion machines (CPMs)
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling: Requires 4 weekend shifts per schedule
Floating Policy: Rotation
Patient Experience Goal: 72%
Dress Code: Navy scrubs required

Job Responsibilities & Procedures

Strong orthopedic background required
Procedures performed on unit include knee and hip replacements, multi-level spine surgeries

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Tennessee
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, including experience within the last year
Strong orthopedics background with orthopedics experience
American Board Of Cardiovascular Perfusion (Multi State Cert) (ABCP)
BLS Certification
NIHSS Certification
De-escalation Skills - Healthcare Setting (HHCCA)

Additional Information

Unit offers a collaborative environment with experienced staff
Rotation scheduling provides variety in assignments
Use of advanced orthopedic equipment and technology on the unit
