Physical Therapist (PT) - Temp, Outpatient (Days)

Location: Mattoon, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Plan and execute rehabilitation programs to help patients improve physical function.
• Utilize therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, physical modalities, gait training, and manual techniques.
• Develop and implement individualized Plans of Care based on evaluations, including short- and long-term goals.
• Perform initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations according to professional and state standards.
• Document patient progress and maintain compliance with third-party payer requirements.
• Communicate effectively with therapy staff, department staff, and referral sources.
• Supervise physical therapy assistants as needed.
• Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and review of professional publications.
• Assist facility staff to maintain a clean, orderly, and effective rehabilitation environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapy experience.
• Outpatient Physical Therapy experience required.
• Active Illinois Physical Therapist License.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Work history and skills checklist relevant to Physical Therapy, current within 1 year.
• Two supervisory reference forms with dates of employment.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible).
• Applicants who were direct employees of the facility within the last 2 years are not eligible.

Additional Information

• Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner.
• Nonbillable hours: 16 hours.
• OT/Holiday pay at 1.25x regular rate.
• Call back pay at 1.3x regular rate.
• On-call rate applies.

Skills & Knowledge Areas

• Anatomy, exercise physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, neuroscience, and pharmacology.
• Strong experience administering a wide range of physical therapy techniques.
• Ability to motivate patients and provide compassionate care.
