Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Primarily caring for admitted patients in the Emergency Department (ED), with 60%-80% of patients admitted.
- ED includes "ED Holding" rooms and trauma cases (Level 1 trauma experience preferred).
- Shifts: 36 or 48 hours per week, typically night shifts (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM).
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5.
- Floating: Expected to float to Adult PCUs; optional floating to Pediatric ED, ED Holding, and Trauma Department of Emergency.
- Weekend work required as needed (weekend days = Sat/Sun; weekend nights = Fri, Sat, Sun).
- No local hires within 100 miles allowed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications (must have before submission):
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
