Medical Surgical Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Patient Ratio: 1:6 or 1:7 (experience with higher ratios required)
Scheduling: Every Other Week (EOW); block scheduling considered

Job Description

• Work on an Oncology MedSurg floor
• Minimal to no Return to Office (RTO) required (must be included on submission)
• Use of Cerner & Soarian EMR systems
• Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of recent MedSurg and Telemetry experience within the last year
• Experience with higher patient ratios (1:6 or 1:7) required
• Oncology experience highly preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• IV Start skills required
• Prior travel experience preferred but not required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (color copy required)
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation
• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Education verification (diploma or transcript accepted)
• NURSYS primary source verification for RN license
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted)
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (9/3 - 3/31) unless approved medical/religious exemption is granted
• Two recent supervisor/manager references verified within 12 months
• Completion of facility-specific HealthStream modules prior to start date
• Submission of a professional badge photo within 24 hours of signing (passport-style, shoulders up, no selfies)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be located 31-50 miles from the facility; those under 30 miles will not be considered local
• Fingerprinting via Georgia GCHEXS system required only for CNAs (not applicable for RN)
• Facility dress code must be reviewed by candidate
• Flu exemption requires completion of agency and facility exemption forms with appropriate documentation and approval
• Fit testing provided onsite at no cost
