CVPICU RN

Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Charleston, South Carolina
• Night shift: 3x12s, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Patient ratio: 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
• Holiday rotation required
• May float within scope to meet facility needs
• First-time travelers accepted
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• CVPICU (2 years of experience)
• CVPICU experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• VAD experience
• ACLS certification

Unit Details

• Pediatric cardiac intensive care unit
• Cares for congenital heart disease patients of any age based on care needs
• Common care includes cardiac surgery, ventricular assist devices, heart transplant, cardiac catheterization, ECMO/CRRT, and other complex supportive therapies
• All beds are monitored

Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements

• 2 clinical references
• Complete application/resume with PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
• Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked for the past 7 years
• Education verification
• Primary source verification of RN license
• Nursys verification
• Annual skills checklist
• Annual physical exam
• Fit test within 90 days before start, then annually
• Tdap within 10 years of start or declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Drug screen within 90 days of start
• Color blind testing
• COVID vaccination documentation or declination
• Flu vaccination documentation or exemption, if applicable for the season
• South Carolina state exclusion list clearance
• Radiation badge if required by the assignment

Schedule / Assignment Notes

• Guaranteed hours are not absolute; traveler may be cancelled one shift per 2 weeks
• RTO must be submitted at time of application and is subject to unit needs
• Travel pairs are not accepted

• Charting system: EPIC
• Parking requires a $20 registration fee for a hang tag; additional parking fees may apply outside the designated garage
