Job Opportunity: MedSurg / PCU Nurse - Night Shift

Location

  • Newport, Vermont (small town near the Canadian border)
  • Rural setting with limited public transportation; personal transportation strongly recommended
  • Area offers outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Night shift (7 PM to 7 AM), including every other weekend rotation
  • Hours per week: 36
  • Facility size: 25-bed critical access hospital
  • Role includes working independently and performing charge nurse duties
  • Floating to other units as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Vermont
  • Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
  • Med Surg and Telemetry experience
  • Experience in charge nurse roles
  • BLS certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

  • Agency professionals must attend quarterly department education sessions
  • Support provided for transition into the community and role
