Overview

13-week contract
Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
Unit: ER/ED
Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
Average volume: 100 patients per day
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5 based on acuity
12-hour night shifts
Every other weekend
Every other holiday
Travelers are expected to float throughout the 60-mile zone they are hired into

Required Qualifications

ACLS (AHA)
BLS (AHA)
NIHSS
PALS
TNCC
RN license
Must be able to read and interpret tele
Must be able to perform Point of Care lab testing

Unit Details

ER holds are intermixed within the ER
No separate psych/seclusion rooms
Charge nurse takes an assignment
RT is available 24/7 and completes breathing treatments and ABGs
Techs support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and assist in triage
No monitor techs

Floating

May float throughout the zone hired into
If there is an extreme need, may float within Zone 1: PEN, SFH, SFI, SMC, STM

Scheduling

Leadership makes the schedule based on needs
No call or standby requirement
