Cath Lab Technologist

Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (40 hours/week)
Call: Rotation every 3rd or 4th weekend plus 1 night of call per week; call team of 4, no solo call


Job Summary

Perform scrub tech duties for cardiac angiograms/interventions, neuro angiograms/interventions, vascular/peripheral vascular angiograms/interventions, and pacemaker/device cases. May assist with electrophysiology (EP) and structural heart procedures based on experience.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years recent experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) or Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) with scrubbing experience in relevant procedures
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Certification: RCIS, RCES, or ARRT (R)
  • If ARRT certified, must obtain NDMIRT license prior to start
  • For clinicians certified through CCI performing imaging and fluoroscopy activation, must have ND Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist license
  • Proficient with coronary stent interventions and sterile technique
  • Experience or competency in the following procedures is required or must be noted:
    • Left/Right Heart Catheterizations (LHC/RHC), PCI (including rotablader, shockwave)
    • Pericardiocentesis
    • Temporary pacer, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), Impella insertion/removal
    • Peripheral vascular interventions
    • Electrophysiology device insertion/removal (pacemakers, ICDs, loop recorders)
    • PFO/ASD closure
    • Electrophysiology ablations (preferred)
    • Additional procedures: Watchmen, Mitral Clip, TAVI, AngioVac, Cardiomems, ECMO, Tilt Table monitoring, CRTD, Micra, Loop Implants, Lower Extremity, TCAR, Neuro, Circulate Cases, Monitor (Cupid/MAC lab)

  • EPIC electronic health record system
  • CUPID, GE MAC Lab/Cardio Lab reporting systems

Work Environment & Orientation

  • 8 cath lab rooms plus 1 procedure room
  • Orientation tailored to candidate experience, typically 1-2 days with assigned mentor
  • Clinicians must badge in/out at facility
  • Scrub color provided: Ceil Blue
  • No floating to other units or departments

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must disclose if they have previously worked for this facility; if so, their last end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission
  • Interview scheduling coordinated directly by manager after candidate submission

This position requires a highly skilled technologist comfortable with a broad range of cardiovascular and neuro interventional procedures, working in a fast-paced cath lab environment with a structured call schedule.
