Contract Length: 13 weeks

Emergency Department with 101 beds
Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
Staffing includes techs for cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks (days and nights)
Equipment used: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
Documentation system: Cerner
Scheduling: Every other weekend required; no block scheduling; must meet department needs
Floating: No floating outside ED; must float within all ED sections
Patient Experience: Emphasis on AIDET communication, respectful behavior, and keeping patients informed throughout their visit

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a Level 2 trauma center
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a comprehensive stroke center
Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume Emergency Department (>100,000 visits annually)
At least 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
At least 1 year of Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience
Experience in an Acute Care setting
Certifications (must have before start):
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Dress Code: Navy scrubs required
The department is recognized for strong teamwork and a welcoming environment
