Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (Level 2 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center)
• Unit Size: 101 beds
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
• Scheduling: Every other weekend; no block scheduling; schedule meets department needs
• Floating Policy: No floating outside the ED; must float within all ED sections

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• At least 1 year of experience in an Emergency Room setting
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center and high-volume ED (>100,000 visits annually) preferred
• Previous experience with HCA Healthcare preferred
• Teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work across all areas of the ED

Certifications Required (Must be current before start date)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)

Equipment & Systems

• Use of Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Documentation via Cerner electronic health record system

Work Environment & Culture

• Serves a diverse, multicultural community with over 120 languages spoken locally
• Navy scrubs required as uniform
• Tech support available including cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks
