Orthopedic Nurse Navigator - Travel Position

Location: Salinas, California
Employment Type: Travel Nursing (Clinical - Nursing)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week (5/8s)
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Job Summary

• Provide care for joint replacement patients from pre-operative class through recovery.
• Coordinate and facilitate patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation according to nursing processes.
• Support and manage the Joint Replacement Program to maintain certification standards.
• Educate patients and families on treatment, recovery, and community resources.
• Provide psychosocial and emotional support to patients and families.
• Collaborate closely with medical staff to ensure timely care.
• Develop educational materials for patients, families, and clinical staff.
• Participate in Joint Certification and related committee meetings.
• Conduct pre-operative class education to prepare patients for surgery and after-care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Minimum of 1 year of Nurse Navigator experience, with experience within the last year.
• Orthopedic Nurse Certification from the Orthopaedic Nurses Certification Board or relevant specialty certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Experience in program development and program implementation.
• Recent clinical experience in orthopedics.
• Knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC) Disease-Specific standards and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
