Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Oklahoma
Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
1 year of Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
Experience with chest tubes
Experience with cardiac drips and medications
Experience with cardiac stabilizations
Experience with pre- and post-cardiac procedures
Experience with cardiac rehabilitation
Ability to interpret EKG
Ability to monitor cardiac rhythms and rates
CVU - Cardiovascular Unit experience
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience

Skills and Experience

Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
Some computer skills

Role Overview

Provides nursing care to a hospital patient population ranging from simple to complex
Manages an assigned group of patients
Documents patient responses and changes in physician orders
Assists with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatment
Monitors patient physiological data and intervenes when necessary
Administers medications and manages intravenous infusions and blood products
Shares care plans with patients and families and supports discharge planning
Delegates tasks to support staff

Unit Details

Mixed cardiovascular floor with 24 beds
12 step-down beds and 12 med-surg beds
May interpret EKGs and monitor rhythms and rates
Works with cardiac rehab, education, and discharge planning
