Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cardiovascular RN for a mixed step-down/med-surg cardiac unit requiring cardiac telemetry and stepdown experience.
Details
- Mixed Cardiovascular unit with 24 beds - 12 Step-Down and 12 Med-Surg
- Located in a newer hospital tower with in-room monitors
- Cares for cardiac rehab, pre/post-procedure, and cardiac stabilization patients
- May be required to interpret EKGs and monitor rhythms and rates
- Collaborates with cardiac rehab, education, and discharge planning teams
- Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
- Minimum of one year of RN experience required
- Cardiac unit experience with step-down experience required
- Experience with chest tubes and drips required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care to an assigned group of patients ranging from simple to complex health problems
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Shares care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Returning travelers may extend contracts only once for a total of 26 weeks, requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying
- Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced and start dates will not be negotiated for candidates not cleared on time
