Respiratory Therapy Travel Position

Location: Iron River, Michigan
Contract Length: 6 weeks
Start Date: August 10
Shift: Day shift, 12 hours (7:30 AM – 8:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Provide respiratory therapy services including basic respiratory care, critical care, and ventilator management (both non-invasive and invasive).
• Perform arterial blood gas draws and patient assessments using Assess and Treat Protocols.
• Care for patients of all age groups.
• May float throughout the hospital and to a nearby facility if staffing needs require.
• Position covers a leave of absence; if the employee returns early, the assignment continues at the alternate location on day shift.
• On-call requirement: 2-3 nights per week at primary location; no on-call if working at alternate location.
• Weekend/Holiday schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Valid Michigan respiratory license required.
• ARRT license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Skills and Equipment Experience

• Experience with ventilators: HAMILTON GV, LTV, C1, PHILLIPS V60 BiPAP.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EPIC EMR).
• Proficient in pulmonary function testing equipment (MGC PFT Body Box), Holter monitors (GE SEER), EKG machines (GE MAC5500), and dose management systems (PYXIS).
• Skilled in home sleep testing, Holter monitoring, EKG, event monitors, nebulizer treatments, pulmonary function testing, patient education, OB deliveries, and trauma/emergency department care.
