RN MS/Oncology - Surgical Oncology Unit

Role Overview

• Travel/contract RN position on the Surgical Oncology Unit
• Nights, various days of the week
• 36 staffed beds
• 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios, which may flex based on staffing and unit needs
• Floating is required as needed, including to sister facilities based on facility needs

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Colorado
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• 2 years of oncology experience
• Oncology experience within the last year
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Experience in a teaching hospital setting
• Surgical Oncology experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching hospital experience if this is the first travel assignment

Unit Details

• Surgical oncology unit
• Majority of patients have abdominal or pelvic diagnoses, including Gynecologic Oncology, Colorectal, Pancreatic, Liver, and Stomach
• Unit primarily cares for patients with a known cancer diagnosis needing surgical interventions or care for post-op milestones and discharge
• No chemotherapy or biotherapy is administered on this unit
