Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Downey, California
• 15-week contract
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30
• ICU/CCU nights
• Possible float to DOU, Tele, or Med Tele
• Every other weekend required
• Hard start: 12/14

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (3 years of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic
• CPI
• MAB or VIP
• Must be willing to work holidays
• RTO must be submitted with the application
• No RTO allowed in the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• No more than 3 days of RTO total

• Arterial line management

• Starting IVs
• Continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade
• Continuous IV sedation
• Emergency medications
• Procedural sedation administration
• Titration of cardiac drips
• Titration of vasoactive drips
• CVA/acute stroke management
• Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun
• BiPAP and CPAP support
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• ABG interpretation
• Suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Ventilator management
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE
• Phlebotomy
• Surgical wounds with drains/Wound Vac
• Chest tube insertion/removal assistance
• Care of ventilated patients
