Location: Urbana, Illinois

Job Overview

The Echo Technologist is responsible for performing a full range of cardiac diagnostic testing and echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures. This role involves overseeing technical procedures, patient care, and workflow management in the echocardiography laboratory. The technologist assists physicians and sonographers to ensure high-quality echocardiographic exams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging following departmental guidelines.
  • Ensure imaging quality by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
  • Review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
  • Accurately document all procedures and findings.
  • Cross-train in other divisions of cardiovascular services.
  • Coordinate patient flow and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Echo Technologist, including experience within the last year.
  • Associate's Degree in Ultrasound.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CCI) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Proficient in echocardiographic sonography.
  • Strong task prioritization skills.

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, day shift.
