RN - Operating Room (Hybrid)

Job Summary

Accountable for care of a group of patients in the Operating Room setting.
Focus on safe, effective patient- and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
Responsible for supervising licensed and non-licensed staff.
Applies evidence-based practice and education within a Practice Governance framework.
Uses the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
Emphasizes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction.
Mentors and precepts staff.

Job Duties

Perform patient assessments and reassessments; make sound independent clinical decisions.
Initiate, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care as needed.
Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams; utilize resources appropriately.
Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
Provide and evaluate patient and family education related to care, treatment, and discharge.
Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel.
Facilitate teamwork and identify opportunities for improvement.
Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives and implement practice changes.
Comply with regulatory standards.
Participate in the Practice Governance model.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience in Urology and Thoracic Surgery cases

Shift Details

Day shift: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, four days per week.
Call schedule: one overnight call per week and every 4th weekend.
Weekend call hours: from 3:00 PM Friday until 6:30 AM Monday.
Total hours per week: 32 hours.
