MS/Tele Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Wilmington, North Carolina
• Night shift: 18:45–07:15
• 36 or 48 hour shifts accepted
• 13–26 week contracts accepted
• Ratio: 1:6
• Self-scheduling
• Every other weekend required
• Float requirement: may float to main campus, 32 minutes away
• Unit orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: navy blue or white
• Unit systems: Pyxis

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
• Must be able to work holidays
• No block schedules unless a weekend block

• Post Angiogram
• Post cardiac surgery
• Post MI
• IV insulin protocols
• Bariatric surgery
• Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
• Accessing/Managing Ports
• CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident)
• Substance Withdrawal
• Surgical drains
• Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• Pre/Post Thoracic Surgery
• Tracheostomy care/management
• Previous Charge Experience
• Electronic Documentation
• Community Hospital Experience

Additional Notes

• Call not required
• RTO maximum: 7 days per contract
• Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty events, or disasters
• Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, with preassignment to units as needed
