Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 3 years of recent ER nursing experience (first-time travelers must have 3+ years)
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Schedule Requirements:
- On-call as needed
- Weekend shifts as needed on a rotation basis
- Weekend block scheduling may be considered but must be discussed during interview
- Locals: Not accepted (strict 100-mile radius rule)
- Work Hours: Must be willing to work 48 hours
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Trauma nursing experience
Additional Requirements & Preferences
- Large hospital experience preferred
- Must comply with all submission requirements including RTO restrictions at time of application
- Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses with glare, no filters, taken within last 6 months)
- Facility-specific dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, no prints or embroidery allowed
- Completion of facility-specific questionnaires and documentation prior to start
- Skills checklist and competency exams must be current and updated annually
- Internal evaluation required if employed with agency for one year or more
Important Notes
- First-time travel nurses must have at least 3 years of ER experience; no exceptions for less experience
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required but locals within 100 miles are not accepted
- Weekend block scheduling is not guaranteed and requires discussion
- All documentation must be complete and compliant before start date; no exceptions for pending items
- Flu exemption requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may delay start date
This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-acuity Level I Trauma Center with a focus on emergency nursing during night shifts. Candidates must be prepared for a fast-paced environment requiring strong trauma nursing skills and flexibility with on-call and weekend rotations.
