Unit

4 Medical is a 25-bed unit with 11 private rooms and 7 semi-private rooms.

Role Overview

RN on a unit whose largest patient population is stroke patients, with additional post-operative, comfort care or hospice, heparin drip, wound care, altered mental status, CIWA, AKI, dialysis, and COPD exacerbation patients.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg experience within the last year
2 years of Med Surg experience
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS

Patient Care Setting

Nursing ratio is 5:1 on days and 5-6:1 on nights
Nurses may occasionally have 1 total care patient
Post-operative patients may include amputations, drains, chest tubes, and feeding tubes
