Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night-shift contract requiring NIHSS and stroke certification with a minimum of 2 years' experience.

Details

• Work on a 25-bed Medical unit with 11 private and 7 semi-private rooms
• Patient ratio of 5:1 on days and 5-6:1 on nights, occasionally including a total care patient
• Diverse patient population including stroke, post-operative, comfort care/hospice, and dialysis cases
• Care for post-operative patients with amputations, drains, chest tubes, and feeding tubes
• Manage heparin drips, wound care, altered mental status, CIWA, AKI, and COPD exacerbation patients
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• 13-week contract assignment

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Stroke certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across a broad range of medical and post-surgical conditions
• Support stroke patients not requiring TPA as well as comfort care and hospice patients
• No holiday coverage required despite scheduled holiday shifts
