Overview
- Travel contract in Tacoma, Washington
- 13-week assignment
- Days, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
- Primarily ICU with floating to PCU
Required Qualifications
- Active BLS and ACLS
- Washington RN license; pending license needed to submit
- 2 years of experience in the specialty
Unit Details
- Medical ICU
- 82 critical care beds total: 48 ICU and 34 PCU
- Ratios: ICU 1:1 to 1:2; PCU 1:3
- EPIC used for EMR
Schedule and Float
- Every other weekend
- Holidays rotate with permanent staff
- Float eligible between ICU and PCU
- May be required to float throughout Region Two
Clinical Notes
- All critical care diagnoses
- ICU vents are used
- PCU does not have vents or pressors
- PCU drips include cardizem, nitro, insulin, and heparin
- Do not require travelers to take IABP or CRRT unless they have that experience
Orientation
- Orientation/education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 weeks
- Expect 25+ hours
- Floor-specific orientation planned for 1 week with an educator at maximum, with a minimum of 2 shifts
