    Description

    ICU RN

    Overview

    • Travel contract in Tacoma, Washington
    • 13-week assignment
    • Days, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
    • Primarily ICU with floating to PCU

    Required Qualifications

    • Active BLS and ACLS
    • Washington RN license; pending license needed to submit
    • 2 years of experience in the specialty

    Unit Details

    • Medical ICU
    • 82 critical care beds total: 48 ICU and 34 PCU
    • Ratios: ICU 1:1 to 1:2; PCU 1:3
    • EPIC used for EMR

    Schedule and Float

    • Every other weekend
    • Holidays rotate with permanent staff
    • Float eligible between ICU and PCU
    • May be required to float throughout Region Two

    Clinical Notes

    • All critical care diagnoses
    • ICU vents are used
    • PCU does not have vents or pressors
    • PCU drips include cardizem, nitro, insulin, and heparin
    • Do not require travelers to take IABP or CRRT unless they have that experience

    Orientation

    • Orientation/education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 weeks
    • Expect 25+ hours
    • Floor-specific orientation planned for 1 week with an educator at maximum, with a minimum of 2 shifts
