Sonographer - Cardiac

Location: Ranson, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (5 shifts per week)
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Weekend/Holiday Requirements:

• Weekend call rotation (7 AM to 1 PM on Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday on-call rotation

Job Details

• Primary worksite is the main hospital location, with possible travel to other hospital and outpatient clinic sites within the area.
• Department has 1 scanner/room.
• Typical studies performed: Transthoracic Echocardiograms.
• Average workload: Approximately 8 studies per day (6 outpatient, 2 inpatient).
• Equipment used: Philips echo machine.
• Electronic systems: EPIC, PACS.
• Cardiologist available on-site for reading studies.
• IV starts are permitted if able; assistance available if needed.
• Scrub color: Light blue scrubs provided.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a cardiac sonographer.
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).

Additional Notes

• No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRA) support in the department.
• Floating to other locations may be required.
