Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week

Unit Size: 12 beds
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4-5 depending on acuity
Orientation:
- One day computer skills training with basic knowledge assessment
- Two shifts orientation with preceptor
- Orientation sessions held bi-weekly

Combination of Medical-Surgical and Stepdown patients
Common diagnoses include Med-Surg conditions, Sickle Cell, heart failure
Telemetry monitoring required (monitored remotely on 3rd floor)
RN responsibilities include titrating set rate drips (no phlebotomy; RNs draw their own labs)
Respiratory therapy equipment includes nasal cannulas, face masks, BiPAP
Charge nurse takes an assignment
Nurse aides present with a 12:1 patient-to-aide ratio
Tele monitors brand: Space Lab

Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
Minimum of 2 years recent experience in PCU or similar hospital setting with solid PCU skillset
Must have successfully completed at least 1 prior travel nursing contract
Experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity required
Candidates must pass clinical resume review for facility consideration
Strict 100-mile radius rule enforced; local candidates will not be considered
