Registered Nurse - Oncology (Travel Assignment)

Location

Lewiston, Maine
2nd largest city in Maine with access to cultural and outdoor activities (skiing, fishing, hiking, kayaking)
Nearby attractions: 40 minutes to Portland, ME; 15 minutes to Lost Valley Ski Resort; 1 hour to Old Orchard Beach; 2.5 hours to Acadia National Park

Contract Details

Travel assignment
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (3 shifts of 12 hours per week)
Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
No call requirements

Unit Profile

Med-Surg/Oncology unit
Trauma Level III facility
Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
Float requirements: Must float to all inpatient areas
Equipment used: Wound Vacs, Prevena Vacs, Baxter IV Pumps
Electronic Health Records: Omnicell, Cerner, SBAR
Patient population includes cancer, diabetes mellitus (DM), pneumonia (PNA), and general surgery cases

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
Minimum 2 years of Oncology experience, including experience within the last year
BLS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

Emphasis on relationship-based care and flexibility in scheduling
Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
