Registered Nurse - ICU/PCU

Location: Norwich, Connecticut

Job Overview

• Work in a dual level of care unit covering telemetry, PCU, and ICU, including a primary stroke center.
• Unit size: 25 beds.
• Patient cases commonly include chest pain, strokes, respiratory failure, and sepsis.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit:

  • Floor side: 1:5-6
  • PCU: 1:3
  • ICU: 1:2

Shift Details

• Night shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Schedule includes every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Connecticut
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
• PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred

• The PCU unit is currently managing ICU overflow patients.
