Ultrasound Tech - Weekend Nights

Location: Chillicothe, Ohio Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging Employment Type: Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 24

Schedule

• Weekend nights: Saturday and Sunday, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. (24 hours per week)

Required Qualifications

• Ultrasound Technologist with 3 years of experience
• Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
• ARDMS (AB) or ARDMS (OB)

Role Scope

• Performs general ultrasound exams only
• Does not want vascular techs

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures per physician orders and department protocols
• Operates ultrasound equipment and selects transducers, settings, and techniques for optimal image quality
• Prepares patients by explaining exams, taking relevant medical history, and positioning them
• Records normal and abnormal sonographic findings and provides preliminary impressions to radiologists and physicians
• Maintains accurate patient records, including procedure and technical data
• Ensures sterilization and maintenance of ultrasound equipment
• Follows infection control, patient safety, radiation safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards
• Participates in quality assurance programs and continuing education as required
• Documents and communicates all variations from protocol
• Cares for patients of all age groups, from neonate to geriatric
