Registered Nurse - Hemodialysis

Location: Salida, Colorado

Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Summary

Urgent need for a Hemodialysis RN to provide daily dialysis care and supervision for in-center, acute, and peritoneal dialysis patients. Work schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with possible holiday coverage if the unit is operating.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-assessment, ongoing assessment, and post-assessment of dialysis patients.
• Maintain overall accountability and responsibility for patient care during dialysis.
• Demonstrate advanced technical skills to set parameters and monitor dialysis machinery readings.
• Access fistula or shunt carefully to avoid clot formation.
• Provide care for acute and peritoneal dialysis patients as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado
• Minimum 6 months (0.5 years) of outpatient dialysis nursing experience within the last year
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong language, grammar, and spelling abilities.
• Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimals.
• Ability to maintain patient, employee, and facility confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Shift Details

• Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
• May include holiday coverage if the dialysis unit is operational.

Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS/BCLS (Basic Life Support/Basic Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
