RN (Registered Nurse) — ICU

Location

• Chandler, Arizona

Contract

• 13 weeks
• Nights
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of recent ICU experience
• Experience in ICU with either neuro or cardiovascular experience
• Active BLS
• Active ACLS
• Active NIHSS
• Arizona RN license or compact license

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC
• Prior experience in a similar-sized ICU
• Level 1 trauma experience
• Neuro experience

Schedule

• Typically every other weekend; may be up to 3 weekends per month if needed
• May have 1 holiday off during the assignment
• Self-scheduling is available, with manager adjustment as needed

Clinical Expectations

• Float to telemetry as needed
• May float between ICU units within the same system
• Must titrate drips
• Must interpret own telemetry strips
• Charge nurse does not take patients
• No monitor techs on the unit
• Respiratory therapy is in-house 24/7

Screening / Onboarding

• Dysrhythmia exam required before acceptance, with up to 2 attempts
• Pass/fail simulation lab on day 1 of orientation
• Orientation is 1–2 days

Unit Notes

• ICU setting includes surgical, medical/cardiac, and overflow ICU coverage
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Navy scrubs required
