Overview

• Travel assignment in Hermitage, Tennessee
• Unit name: PCU
• 630 has 34 beds; 633 has 25 beds
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• EKG rhythm interpretation experience
• Cardiac drip experience
• Insulin drip experience
• Heparin drip experience
• Peripheral IV skills

Preferred

• Peritoneal dialysis experience

Unit Details

• Patient ratios: 1:4 to 1:5 on days; 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
• Staffing includes 3 techs when full on 630 and 2 techs when full on 633
• Floating may be between PCU units or to med-surg floors
• Scheduling is every other weekend, with 3 12-hour shifts per week
• Self-scheduling is used
• Black scrubs are required

• Thoracentesis
• Paracentesis
• Chest tube insertions
• Dobhoff/NG tube insertions
• Central line dressing changes
• Wound vac troubleshooting
