Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Michigan
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
1 year of experience in Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit
Experience with cardiac patient populations
Experience with chest tubes
Experience with cardiac monitoring and cardiac drips
Telemetry experience

Clinical Experience

Cardiac patient populations
Cardiac monitoring and cardiac drips
Cardiac stepdown / PCU populations
Chest tubes
Low-level ICU skills

Unit Details

36-bed cardiac IMC / medical-surgical telemetry unit
Patient ratios: 1:5-6 for cardiac patients; 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
Telemetry monitoring used

Common Patient Conditions

Chest pain
VATS
Stroke/TIA
Pre- and post-open heart surgery
Pacemakers
Heart blocks
Vascular conditions
CHF

Additional Notes

Teamwork is emphasized
Blue or navy scrubs required
Blue jeans are not allowed
