Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: Orangeburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Perform radiographic procedures requiring strong knowledge of anatomical positioning and physiology.
- Apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating technical competency and initiative.
- Coverage includes OR, Orthopedics, Fluoroscopy, Inpatient, Outpatient, and ER.
Shift Details
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Days: Saturday through Monday
- No on-call rotation
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in South Carolina.
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year.
- ARRT (R) certification.
- SCRQSA (R) certification.
- BLS certification.
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician.
Licensure & Certifications
- Active, unencumbered state license for Radiologic Technologist.
- Primary source verification required.
- Background checks including criminal, sex offender registry, and employment verification.
- Annual physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands.
- Required health documents:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start.
- Proof of Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form.
- Proof of MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination.
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
- COVID vaccination records preferred; declination form accepted.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
- Color blindness test required prior to start.
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required.
- Facility-specific orientation modules must be completed before starting.
- Passport-style badge photo required prior to start.
Additional Requirements
- Must complete facility-specific forms including radiation exposure attestation.
- Must provide copies of Driver’s License/State ID and Social Security Card.
- Employment history verification for last 3 clinical employers.
- Must complete annual respirator medical clearance questionnaire.
- Facility uses Epic for charting.
- Parking is free.
- Scrub color: Teal top and black bottom.

- Hurricane season (June-November) may require emergency response team participation; avoid confirming new or extension assignments during peak months (August-September).
