Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lexington, Kentucky (Off-campus Cardiology Clinic in Mount Vernon, KY)
Shift: Day, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Job Summary

Provide disease-specific patient care for individuals with serious acute and/or chronic health conditions or those maintaining wellness. Responsibilities include skilled assessments, care planning and implementation, patient education, and clinical evaluation/interventions in a busy ambulatory care setting focused on quality, safety, and patient-centered care.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
  • Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
  • Cardiology nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
  • Prior travel experience is not required.

  • Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted for this position.
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced ambulatory care environment with a focus on quality and patient safety.
  • Compliance with facility-specific policies, protocols, and procedures is essential.
  • All certifications, competencies, and health documents must be current and valid throughout the contract period. Renewal plans must be in place if expiration occurs during assignment.

This is a 14-week travel/contract Registered Nurse position in a cardiology ambulatory clinic setting requiring at least 1 year of cardiology experience, current RN licensure, BLS certification, and Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year. The role involves direct patient care with a focus on chronic and acute cardiac conditions during weekday day shifts. Prior travel experience is not necessary.
